Dog with arthritis

Hello,

I was wondering if you could put DMSO on a dog for arthritis or will the oils in their hair cause problems?

A friend's 9 yr old mastiff had TPLO ( Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) http://www.slocumenterprises.com/Articles/cranial_cruciate_ligament.htm for a torn cruciate ligament 3 yrs ago but suffered severe arthritis as a result. With the hurricanes and barometric pressure changes they have been experiencing down here in Miami he has been having real bad days... well yesterday she came home to find him in severe pain... She is getting worried that he is going to have to be put to sleep if she doesn't find something to pull him out of his crisis... he can barely walk and is in excruciating pain when he does have to move....He is eating and his spark is still there - just dampened by the pain he is in.

You recommended DMSO roll on for a friend that had chronic back pain and is a recovering addict (pain killers) and it worked WONDERS. He cant say enough about the stuff so I was hoping it could help in this situation also.

What would be a safe dose of MSM with an equal dose of Vit C? She has him on Glucosamine/Chondroitin now.

Thanks in advance,

Alaina

I used DMSO full stregnth on my aging Bullmastiff X Grt Pyrenees. She

loved it. About 4 cc in a syringe, no needle, I would move it around and

slowly push it out while massaging/spreading with my other hand. It felt

very warm and she loved that. With time the effect should accumulate to

even better inflammation and pain control. I wear a glove when doing it

this way. Or dilute it to 50% and use a bit more, can be just painted on

but I wanted to know it got down to her skin. The oils should not be too

much of an issue. But any kind of flea chemicals or Spot On type stuff

would be carried in so a good bath if those have been used, or several.

Keep it away from any area of concentrated flea treatments as those stay

in the skin for a month.

He could also have oral DMSO, I gave 1-2 teaspoons in milk, disguises

the flavor. Makes them pee alot so give more water and be around to let

them in and out. If the skin dries out apply aloe vera gel before

application or Emu Oil after, it will restore any dryness (mostly from

DMSO pulling the oils out of the skin).

If the odor drives you insane try the low odor DMSO from

www.jacoblab.com .

Feeding MSM, glutathione, glucosamine, Seaweed (www.solidgoldhealth.com

has a blend that is superior to most products), probiotics, Yucca (Solid

Gold - if the dog tolerates it, build up, can make them a bit gassey at

first, but is great for inflammation and digestion, but go real slow

with a Mastiff if they are sensitive about diet changes). Devils Claw is

also an excellent herb for inflammation.

For arthritis in humans Colloidal Gold is also have some great effects.

I have been thinking about mixing it with DMSO and applying topically as

well as drinking a couple T a day, it has helped my arthritis and also

mental clarity.
