Guest guest
Jill, What you posted below is EXACTLY what I mean, and my whole reason for bringing up this interesting discussion. Message: 17 The difference is that you can have one WITHOUT the other. You can be Apraxic and not be Autistic and you can be Autistic without being Apraxic. My personal opinion is that they should not drag all kids with Apraxia/Dsypraxia into " the spectrum " . Either you're autistic or you're not. It gets too confusing to parents when they try and use this umbrella term to cover many different disorders. I would love to see more funding for research into Apraxia/Dyspraxia ALONE, without it being swallowed up into " the spectrum " where I feel it will be neglected. The special ed laws should just be expanded to give the necessary therapy to kids based on their delays (without them feeling pressured to get a specific label whether it is correct or not). Otherwise this spectrum umbrella will keep getting bigger and it will mean nothing. Just my opinion and it is not directed at anyone here. Guest guest
Jen, Hyou added your Hanger facility to the database or is it already there? If it's there would you consider adding your email as a personal contact? It really helps parents to talk to someone who has used the same ortho. It sounds like you are being well taken care of Have you noticed any correction yet? Did you take before pics? We don't have a lot of Hanger B & A pics. I would love for you to add after graduation! (about 15 mintues) which was a big part of why I chose them too. Cranial Solutions was an hour and a half and I had a consult there with Kirk Lucyk and liked him, but after the Consult at the local Hanger I decided on them, because I LOVE the Orthotist there and they are so close. SO, far they have been great, as far as contacting Insurance and all so nice and knowledgeable. I'm very comfortable with them. I have a 3 year old and my 6.5 Month old, so distance was a consideration with me too. There aren't any CT's in PA.Anyway... I wish you luck! Guest guest
Yes... I'm in PA, near Reading. There are no CTs in PA, to the best of my knowledge. Yeah... driving several hours 1 way every week or bi-weekly with 2 kids would have been very tough. That's why I looked at Cranial Solutions and Hanger. Guest guest
Heres one on penicillin allergy... if you have any data on permanent bad effects from nitroimidazoles, I would like to read, for the sake of my own health. But I know you may not be actively researching it. Sue has just told us firsthand of such a permanent bad effect of a nitroimidazole. So theres no doubt such a thing exists. What I've read in one paper is that the bulk of cases of flagyl neuropathy resolve with withdrawal of the drug. But I think we all know what one single reviewed opinion without explicit data is worth: ie not enough. Unfortunately I have read several web reports (not in our community, but on a flagyl " post your opinion " site) where people did not have immediate resolution of the neuropathy/etc. The problem is that most of them were posting only several days after ceasing the drug, and its anyones guess whether they finally straightened out. I hope they did but I know what kind of world this is. Sorry for comparing spontaneous CFS remission the set of people you know who did well on amoxy. That wasnt a fair/logical comparison, since the spontaneous CFS remission people arent actually common enough for me to really *know* any of them. Ive just heard about them in credible reports. ==================================================== Pediatr Dent. 2000 Sep-Oct;22(5):401-4. Penicillin is the drug that most often leads to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. The incidence of adverse events triggered by penicillins is believed to be between 1% and 10%. Up to one-tenth of these episodes are life-threatening, with the most serious reactions occurring in patients with no history of allergy. The case of a 5 year, 3 month-old female who had a severe allergic reaction to amoxicillin prior to a dental appointment is described. The literature on penicillin hypersensitivity is reviewed and recommendations for management of an allergic reaction in the pediatric dental office are discussed. Guest guest
Flagyls a tough drug the only drug I know that messes you up when used with alcohol. I found it felt great for a week and then using it on 10 other occasions no benefit was noticed.I had triple therapy from my helicobacter pack that saw me have tons of flagyl lying around.I think people should see if it can lift themif it did inintially and no longer does use something else. It's very hard to believe you need to keep doing a drug that works initially and gives great relief then your supposed to keep going for years with no relief. Someone needs to do a rethink on this whole mess.People are also touting how good some IV treatments may be when the IV saline is an absolute winner required in about 90% of patients.Building blood volume is so overlooked. > > > > Duh what? > > " Many humans " have died from anyphylactic shock from amoxicillin? > > Want to give me some #'s and citations. > > Its considered one of the least toxic abx. Guest guest
If you're worried about penicillin allergy you can have a scratch test ahead of time. You can't scratch test for neuropathy. I know some folks (lymies) who seemed to get permanent neuropathy from flagyl. So tini's safer. > > > > Duh what? > > " Many humans " have died from anyphylactic shock from amoxicillin? > > Want to give me some #'s and citations. > > Its considered one of the least toxic abx.
