Hi Jan! Hehe, almost anything you can name, including working, for me, is at 1 a.m. or later. Even days off are strange, on some days. I think I've been on a roller coaster schedule for a few yrs now. Don't think it's my adrenal glands, do you, lol? Or maybe, if the psych could see me now, he/she might think it's biploar, teehee! Seriously, I'm trying to make some "me" time, but a whole lot of this IS my me time. It helps me too, and I think that worlds have opened up to me on account of the Groups.

Re: drlowe.com---fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, thyroid hormone resistance

Well, , you have messed up my schedule again for two days in a row, by posting links to the most fascinating parts of two of the most valuable sites related to thyroid disorders!

They are at opposite ends of the spectrum, but "Ask the Experts" on Thyroid Disease Manager and Dr. Lowe' answering questions have kept me from doing much of anything that I had planned. . . . .except maybe a little laundry. . . .and I have done less of that than I ought to. . . . .don't even ask me about housework. . . .I did the dishes at 1 am. . . .

Thanks for posting all of this great stuff!

I can't play a musical instrument, but I couldn't LIVE without music. I hope that my total hearing is never taken away. I used to sing, but that's pretty messed up now too. I would die if I couldn't hear music.

I played the 'cello for the Dallas Symphony for 36 years. It was a full-time job. I mainly quit for health reasons. They had an early retirement deal, and my husband's former employer offered health insurance. The health insurance enabled me to take the deal. I was 57 at the time.

I no longer touch the 'cello at all, nor do I listen to much music. . . .

Messed up because of your thyroid??? Just

asking because I SWEAR mine is! I almost fell on the floor when I saw that ‘listed’

as a symptom – think my kids would love me to pieces if I could actually

hear them again – without that WHAT WHAT??? Come here!!! I Can’t

HEAR YOU!!

Back in the summer of 1998, I had severe falling-down vertigo, the kind that makes you have a car wreck, makes everything look like it's spinning around you, makes you have a "bobbing" environment when you walk in half-light or dark (they call that "Dandy's Syndrome), and makes you fall on your head in the floor, if you even turn your head sideways. It took me around 6 wks or so to come out of the most terrible part of that, but I still have subtle repercussions from that. For instance, if I stare at the stars, I've almost got to be lying on my back, instead of bending the neck back, looking upward, or I won't be steady on my feet. I can't talk, walk, and look slightly behind me, or I will veer severely to my right or left, mostly my right. The nausea with that is incredible and was a nightmare. I was driving, and when I came out of a stop sign, it looked like the road made a huge wave that stood up and over, going from left to right. I had to stop in the middle of the road and recover from it. Some would say Meneire's, but I don't know about that. The ear doctor I went to at the time didn't do that much testing on me, only the hearing test, and some sort of test with electrodes on head. The latter of the two tests was negative, but he didn't know that I knew that he was supposed to order a head scan for that, but he didn't. Yes, I have severe nasal allergies, and he did send me home with different things for that. Then, within this last yr, I found out that there is autoimmune inner ear disease that seems to go hand in hand with a failing thyroid. I was already being treated with synthetic T4 at the time and trusted almost any doc that came along, so I guess I will never know. We were also being exposed to the smoke from the Mexican fires every single day, at that time, so I don't guess I will know whether I was toxic or not. Funny thing, the primary care doc that I was seeing at the time said that they had had 30 something people one day come in with vertigo complaints, and 40 something the next. The truth is, I don't think we'll ever know the crap that was in those fires, and also, I live on the Tx Gulf Coast. The folks at the chemical plants lie a lot.
