I can't remember Elena, but are you exercising only without dieting? I can relate to what you said about having a shapelier body. I cannot get over the changes my figure has gone through! My legs are the most dramatic. My arms are taking shape as well. My shoulders and my biceps are looking great! My triceps don't seem to be getting very firm, but my arms have shrunk big time! I can just envision what I am going to look like in sleeveless tops this summer! I only hope I don't end up with that baggy skin underneath the bottom of my triceps. Yuk! I am hoping that as I move into the advanced workout, the triceps will firm up. And......I get so excited when I hear people in our group talking about their great butts and abs. (A big congratulations to !) I am going to be starting the advanced floorwork in January, and I can only imagine the changes this is going to add to my figure. Elena, if you have only lost 5 pounds over a period of 8 months, then you must be a powerhouse of muscle. I'll bet you look GREAT!! Guest guest
Here are my results: Over the past 1 and a half to 2 years, 63 pounds lost. That was from off and on dieting and working out. In the last 6 months of Tae Boing I have lost 32 of the 63, but most of that has actually come off in the past 3 months. I didn't take my measurements until recently so from October 29, 1999 I have lost: Left arm 1 1/2 inches Right arm 1 1/2 inches waist 1 inch Hips 3 inches tops of thighs 7 inches legs above the knee 2 1/4 inches I am full of lumps and bumps so I measure myself in a lot of different places, like tops of the thighs with legs together, hips at the bone, hips at the fullest (fattest) point... stuff like that! I can't remember Elena, but are you exercising only > without dieting? Sharon, your response has made my day! I guess I have been doing a good job after all at getting fit. I generally eat a low fat, healthy diet but binge eat fattening foods after a glass or 2 of wine. I am trying a modified diet in a challenge with Sandy. Basically, I am only drinking alcohol on the weekend because it makes me binge eat afterwards and I am not eating anything after dinner on weekdays. So far, I've kept my promise to myself but I think come January, after the holidays, I will have to move up the diet a notch and go to no eating after dinner on ANY day. Paraphrasing MT from the " questions for TBQ " board, Taebo does not give you permission to binge eat. So, come January, I will have eliminate after dinner food on all days of the week. I am not sure if the advanced tapes will do the trick with the triceps. I also lift weights for my upper body 3 days a week, which includes a great exercise for the triceps that I got from " Weight Lifting for Dummies. " I dont' even want to attempt to describe it because I am terrible at explaining those type of things and even a minor mistake with weights can cause injuries. I think you really need to see a picture (or at least I did) to get the form right. Maybe someone else on the board who does not lift weights can tell you whether advanced tapes alone will firm the triceps. I must say that I love having firm arms, triceps too. I now feel free to walk around the office in a camisole (or shell? Don't worry , it's not underwear). And......I get so > excited when I hear people in our group talking about their great butts and > abs. (A big congratulations to !) I am going to be starting the > advanced floorwork in January, and I can only imagine the changes this is > going to add to my figure. You WILL see the result in your butt from the advanced floor work (studio advanced, AL1 and AL2) and standing balancing exercises (AL3 and AL4). I guarantee it. Guest guest
I've been doing Tae-bo since April 1, but took the month of August off for vacation(s). I've lost between 25 - 30 pounds (I tend to fluctuate a lot) and the following inches: bust: 5 " waist 4 " hips 7 " * bicep 2.5 " * thigh 4 " total = 22.5 inches *I didn't start measuring my bice and thigh until about six months into my Tae-bo journey, so I really don't know for sure how much I've actually lost there. I do feel good about myself and how far I've come. I have found that if I get too comfortable with that feeling though, I end up stagnating (which I've done since Sept.) and not moving forward to my ultimate goal. So as important and wonderful as it might be that I've come this far, I still need to focus on where I want to end up, and it's not here. It might sound strange, but I can get a little to happy with my progress and forget the journey! I *really* appreciate all the encouragement and support though! And now it's my turn to thank you. I originally started Tae-Bo because I wanted to learn to kick and move like the people on the infomercial...or at least try to. The weight loss was a total surprise. I worked my way up to the basic live 1, it took a long time because of some chronic physical conditions, but I stalled there. I am still seeing physical results, using the tapes I have 4 days a week, so I thought that was ok, but to be honest I'm not challenging myself anymore. Your post made me realize that I'm stagnating. I was going to order an advanced tape because I'm less active in the winter, but I work out with my husband and he doesn't have the time for an hour workout..so I never ordered it. I'm going to order some more of the basic live tapes and challenge myself with some new kicks and combos. Besides, I miss reviewing the tapes and asking if he is crazy to expect me to do that. Thanks for the kick in the kester!
