Elaine,

I have not DMSO tinctured the complete formula as written by , but I have used dmso singly with comfrey, gravel root, lobelia, and black walnut. I have used them with success but since I have not used the true formula of BFC, I cannot really compare.

Doug dear, have you tinctured these herbs in DMSO? I've been having fantasy about this for some time---just need to purchase the DMSO!! If you have tinctured them, do you feel they are as strong as the tea mixture.

Elaine in TX---who is also very allergic to PI. I've been working on it thru my gut. Aloe Vera juice every day for years has change the extreme allergic reation I have to juniper and PI

Bev,

I use DMSO just as I would use any traditional menstruum in herbal medicine (ethanol, etc). I chop the herb then pour DMSO on it, to macerate as a tincture. No, I have never poured an already made ethanol tincture into dmso, though I suppose that could be done, too.

Are you guys saying to put the whole herb in DMSO to steep or put the tincture in DMSO for application?

Cool! (I know, I'm too old to talk that way, but what the hell, it's the internet and you can't tell that.) I checked my dictionary and Yasgur's homeopathic dictionary and couldn't find that word - menstruum - finally went online to dictionary of difficult words. Now I can say menstruum and cool. How cool is that?

Thanks,

Bev (who is just goofin')

Yes, I treat it just as I would any other ethanol/water solution when making a tincture. I let it macerate for 2-4 weeks in a dark warm place. I try to shake it regularly. I also use a home vacuum food saver with a canning jar attachment to pump some of the air out to increase the macerating properties, but this is not necessary. However, if you have one, do it!

Yes, I feel it can be orally ingested like its alcohol counterpart, but I mainly use it for topical applications.

Doug,

When you create the DMSO tincture, can it be ingested? Also, how long does the herb have to sit in the DMSO? Do you shake it daily?"d.a." wrote:
