Guest guest Posted March 26, 2004 Report Share Posted March 26, 2004 We all know how I've felt about one doctor and another, but I'm going to get blunt on this one because she charged you for getting your own blood test results. Those belong to YOU, by the law, and it is extortion (yep, I said it, so sue me) to charge you to receive your own results and medical history. I can see why an office might charge a few cents per page for printing out a copy, because those are their supplies, but to charge bucks for giving you what already belongs to you??? THIS doctor needs to be reported to the TSBME for,what would you call it? Not releasing medical records in what, a timely and appropriate fashion? (Yep, I said it). I can't comment on her lousy medical protocol. I would have dumped this doctor the first time, without paying. For what? For mental and emotional abuse? Second, I went to a doc in Longview and it was a complete disaster! OK, not completely because I did find out I have Thyroid antibodies, but she won't put me on any Thyroid because my pulse was too high! 80 when I got there and 99 after talking to her for a while!! Please tell everyone NOT to go to Dr. in Longview. There were so many problems with her, from the exorbitant rate she charges, to the way she yelled at me for the look on my face! (no, I am NOT kidding) And many in-between things! I paid $250 for the first visit, and we just talked and went over my history. $260 for the second visit, the physical, and a urine test. No PAP, no EKG...nothing. Then I had to go for an MRI due to back pain....she charged me $100.00 to come in and get the results! I am a nurse and those results are usually phoned to the patient! Then she charged me $150. ! to get my BLOOD TEST results! She kept telling me she wasn't in it ''for the money". You wonder why I kept going back?? She had my blood tests and I wanted to get better! I am 48, with symptoms for 20 yrs and I am desperate! After all that....she refused to give me Thyroid. AND she wanted to put me on Vit that SHE SELLS, and she will give me a list of them WHEN I COME BACK ! I am not exaggerating when I tell you I felt like I was raped. I was sick about this for days...and very depressed. To think I gave all that money to this nut job just to have her yell at me multiple times, not treat me and THEN TRY to sell me her vitamins WHEN I COME BACK. I am still sick over it. I apologies for this being so long, but I am at my wits end. I NEED another Doc in this area...Tyler, Longview. Can you help me. I would be ever so grateful! Check out the doctor's list for someone in your area. I am also a nurse and worked in Tyler years ago but don't remember anyone I would recommend. And I wasn't interested in thyroid stuff then anyway. Good luck. If you are willing to drive to Shreveport I might be able to help you.
