Ok, Barb, you are absolutely right!!!!

Here is a little bit about myself.

I'm 30 years old, not married but seriously involved and awaiting my first

child (I'm 15 weeks pregnant... already, geez, it's going too fast). I've

been taeboing since march 99. However, I recently had to stop because of

bad morning sickness. I have started last week doing step aerobics classes

after 6 weeks of not excercising, and I feel better. I plan on starting

taebo this week, alternating my taebo with my aerobics classes). I lost a

total of 20 pounds since march. However with my pregnancy, I have gained

approximately 5 pounds back (which is quite normal).

I am the guilty one who started the icq group, so I guess I'm a little bit

responsible for the insiders going on... When I can, I will try to clear up

things... but I'm not aware of everything that goes on with the icq gang...

Well, guys have a nice day, and sorry if this was such a long post!!

Geez... I forgot to say what I do for a living!!! I'm a laboratory physician

(anatomic pathologist to be more precise). I work in a small hospital in a

small town (50 000 population approximately) in an isolated area of north

western Quebec So there's another person in the medical field here...

My name is Debbie. I'm 42 years old and have been married to the guy

that I "KNEW" I would marry someday when I first saw him at the ripe

age of 13. We've been married for 20 years and have two great kids, a

son who is 17 1/2 and a daughter who is 15 1/2. I've home schooled

both children for the last 8 years and our daughter is now a freshman

in college. Our son will be graduating with the rest of the home

school kids of WA state.

I have yet to see an Blank's infomercial. I discovered his

tapes while browsing through Collage Video last July. I received my

videos in August of 98 and I've been hooked ever since.

I was looking for an exercise program to help fill the void that I

had after being in a car accident that left me unable to lift weights. I had been lifting weights since the 70's and I was six months away

from my first body building competition when I was hit from behind. This accident coupled with another one a year later, changed my life

forever. After three lower back surgeries and 50 lbs. heavier, I found

myself pretty darn depressed.

In January of 98 I went for my first serious walk in three years. I

came home in tears. I had never been so out of shape in my whole life

and I knew that I could either stay the way I was or do something about

it. I chose to take control of my life.

Before my Tae Bo tapes came, I had already lost the 50 lbs. that I

gained, so I can't contribute my weight loss to Tae Bo. What I can

contribute to Tae Bo is far more important though. Tae Bo gave me back

the inner strength and self confidence that I had before the accident. It has helped me feel at peace again. It has also helped tone my body.

Even though I've lost a lot of muscle mass, my muscles are firm and it

does look like I still lift weights. Tae Bo has done this

transformation.

Hi! I am 24 yrs old. I have been doing tae-bo 5 days a week since March

10th. I have a 2 yr old daughter, and I have been married to my best

friend for almost 3 years. he is currently in school full time for

police science, and the loss prevention supervisior for Best Buy full

time. I am a dental lab technitian, and have been doing that for 5

years, and I love it! We have been in a new city for almost a year

now, and I wanted to comment to Lucie, my best friend just packed up

and moved across the country to spend the rest of her life with a

wonderful man she met online as well, isn't it strange how love works?

It was the same way with me when I was pregnant. Nobody really ever knew I

was pregnant until the very end and even then nobody believed I was 9 months

pregnant. My philosophy on that was that my boobs were so big that they

stuck out farther then my stomach and so it actually made my stomach look

smaller. I was really worried that they would never go back to normal, but

they are just now starting to get back to the right size (I breastfed for 9

months). I spent many months wearing 2 jogbras. I am just now getting back

to being able to wear only one.

Hi, this is my first time posting at this site. I am " carroll " from

the Taebo web site, and I guess I will be " carroll " here, too. I am a

39 year old employment lawyer who works for the government in

Washington, D.C. I've been married to my best friend for 5 1/2 years

and we have 2 cats and a dog who are our " children. " I started Taebo

in April and have not lost any weight or dress sizes although I feel

great and, I think, look better (more definition, muscle). I would

love to lose 5+ pounds since I am 5'6 " and 135 pounds, but it may not

happen. Unfortunately, I love to eat, especially desserts on special

occasions. For me, exercise is a way to allow me this style of living.

I also love to hike in the mountains which I try to do twice monthly.

My trouble areas in Taebo (in addition to no weight loss) are

coordination, balance, and flexibility. It takes me 2 days to learn

some of the routines. I can not, an probably never will be able to, do

the splits. BUT, I keep stretching and trying. My goal for the next

month is BALANCE. I would love to be able to hold my kicking leg up

for ever with control.

I am trying this Board because I am getting fed up with the Moderators

on the Taebo website. They keep deleting what I consider

nonobjectionable material without providing an explanation or the

rules. For example, I tried 3 times to to tell the Board about last

Tues. (10/26/99) Washington Post article in the Health section on

kickboxing, and on Taebo and in particular. First, I thought the

moderator objected to my providing a link to the web site; the send

time that part of my message was deleted, I chalked it up to a possible

copyright problem. Then, I just referenced the article as I did above

and suggested to anyone to go the Washington Post's web site to check

out the article. Again, my message was deleted (we'll see if it

appears later) and no response was given to my request for an

explanation or the rules. Anyway, the article was very fair, giving

the pro's and con's and insight from fitness experts. There were some

nice pictures, too. You can see it for free on the Washington Post

website for the next week, then, I believe, there is a fee.

Sorry, for the long introduction. HORSEMOM2, I really admire and

appreciate your ability to respond to so many messages and your spirit.

You have really provided a common thread between the various subgroups

in the official Taebo website unified and this website. This is a

special gift you gave the new people.

Oh Carroll....

Been there done that! That is why I no longer post on the Tae Bo board.

I felt like it was masquerading as an open forum, when in fact it is

very censored in my opinion, and I have a real pet peeve about stuff

like that *EG*

After hearing from all of you, Janick, Bev, Barb, ..., about your

experiences with the " editing " on the Taebo official website and after

my own experiences, I am giving up that Board (with the exception of the

" Announcements " ) for this one. I think I told you that I sent a message

with responses to other peoples' messages, along with a polite request

for the rules for posting. SURPRISE! My message never appeared.

That's it for me. I would like to at least say goodbye to the people at

" Questions for Taeboqueen " with a simple statement that I am going to

this Board instead because of differences with the Moderators, but I bet

such a message would never appear. There are some nice people on

" Questions for Taeboqueen " (like MT,... ) who I think deserve an

explanation or at least a good bye and thank you. What do you think? I

wish there was a face or name or e-mail address for this Moderator so

that we could contact her/him/them directly.

Try bringing your son a plate full of food. He must feel real hurt to

turn down your offer. Regarding your exercise routine, you seem to have

the right attitude -- just try different routines and see how your body

responds. You sound like your own best doctor and physical trainer.
