Guest guest
Ok last post, don't want to beat a dead horse. I called Dr. Borochoff office today. Scheduled for March 26. He does use armour and it is 350 for intial vist.$100 a piece for free t3- t4 tests and then 75 a visit. I guess he is semi retered so you have to go in after 4 each day??? Called Dr. schroeders officce and talked to the lady and told her a iwas concerned that I had heard Dr. hotze puches vitiamins you don't need and someone had spent 4,000 and still felt like crap. She said the do not force you to take vitiams but they will recommend. I said with one kindey I don';t want to take a bunch of stuff. They charge 1500 dollars and that includes intial vist, ekg and blood work. Medicine is additional cost. They lady seemed knowledgable. What are your thoughts.... I don't want to be out a bunch of money and still feel like crap?? But I am scared to mess with my hormones for fear of bringing my cancer back. Thank you, martha
Guest guest
BTW, Martha, never think you're beating a dead horse, so to speak. We're ALL beating horses, if that's the case. Never feel timid about info seeking, none of us are! That's what we're here for. (((Hugs))) Tx Jill, and Jan=- Doc thoughts > Ok last post, don't want to beat a dead horse. Guest guest
Martha, I think is right - why not order your tests from healthcheckusa.com I haven't used it myself, but I know a lot of people do and have been happy with the service. I am thinking of ordering the panel for my Mother. They told her that it would cost $200 to $300 to get the Free T3 and Free T4. Sheesh - if Healthcheckusa can do it for $75, why does it cost so much to go through a doctor's office. I know it is tough feeling lousy and then having to make major decisions and then wait and wait for the medicine to kick in on top of that. I wish the best for you. I think you have some good guidance here from , Jan, and others. Jill > Ok last post, don't want to beat a dead horse. > > I called Dr. Borochoff office today. Scheduled for March 26. Guest guest
This is something that there seems to be so much price gouging on and no regulation of. When a doctor uses a particular lab service, he/she is basically the go-between and can mark up the cost because he is the " middle man " in these particular transactions. I never knew that these online services existed until late last winter-spring. I work in a healthcare facility, never knew, neither did any of my co-workers, and none of us have insurance, at least not the nursing floor, so if anyone thinks that this info is going to be volunteered at most local doctors' offices, they are still looking at this profession through rose-colored glasses. I know that this sounds so negative, and one of the main things that we need to do is to feel more positive, but I don't think that's going to happen until we all know the ins and outs of the medical profession and take charge of seeing to it that we get the care that we all deserve. Knowledge is the key factor here, and there is more safety and progress in numbers, I believe. After I was scrolling down the pages of Healthcheck, looking at all the testing I could get on various things, I thought about the little bit of bloodwork I got in an endo's office for around $350, which did not even include all the things that I got in the VIP Profile on HealthCheck, and I was both astonished, sad, and very angry. I have been accused of being negative and angry since, but no, I'm just trying to do something about it, which includes telling everyone that I can tell. This is where I start getting looked at like a " cooky " person because people have been brainwashed into thinking that they cannot possibly take charge of any of the decisions, when it comes to their healthcare. They have been convinced that the doctor's office is an " inner room " , so to speak, and nothing that they can access can be accessed by anyone without. I was, at first, sad about so many people's situations, now I'm just spreading the word. How else are they to know?
