Hello all.

I tore my meniscus in my left knee back in June of

last year. In July of the same year I had

arthroscopic surgery to debride the area. I was going

strong in physical therapy until I got a new car with

a stick shift about a month after surgery. Here it is

8 months later and I am afraid to do anything as the

knee still feels unstable and once or twice will still

'buckle' occasionally. Any suggestions ?

Secondly, I have always had pain in my right shoulder,

right between the anterior and middle deltoid.

However, as I've gotten older it has just gotten

worse. I've been told it is more than likely a

rotator cuff injury (by two physical therapists), but

I am reluctant to spend the two grand for an MRI just

to confirm it because after my knee surgery, I am told

that the recovery time for a rotator cuff is much

longer due to the more invasive procedure. I am open

to other possibilities as I do not want to have

surgery. I have tried deep tissue massage and

acupuncture so far. What about sonic therapy (I know

it's called something else, I'm just having a brain

freeze at the moment) ? I have also heard about an

arthritis clinic in Florida that uses lasers--has

anyone any suggestions or experience with these (or

others) that may help ? I must say I like to do heavy

flat bench dumbell presses, but haven't really done

much as the pain is a deterrent. I did have a good

day last week as I took 800 mg ibuprofen about an hour

before lifting. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

in advance.
