Maybe. I got it when I was about ten or twelve from calves. Dr in those days treated it with ultraviolet light and some blue liquid.

25 yrs ago husband got it, we think from public baths. Dr said that was common. I tried Lugol's Iodine on it. Think it was Lugol's, that's what I was most likely to have in the house. Anyway, dabbed it on, then, to be on the safe side, taped the cotton wool to the site. Took care of the ringworm all right - and the skin underneath it. Dr took a look at the hole and opined that that had got rid of the ringworm!

The " blue liquid " was probably Gentian Violet, a dye that was in

widespread use before antibiotics and antifungals came on the scene. It

is mostly used for fungus, but bacteria too. Lots of horse folks still

use it.
