Guest guest
Jan, I am not feeling Hyper at all. And I thought I had it right. I didnt think my Endo would get it backwards like that (confused me a bit). I dont really know what to to do now. I have no insurance. I cant make this endo mad---fear that he wont allow me to continue going through my own lab (healthcheck) and have our consultations over the phone. What do I do....Call him up and say, excuse me, but you were mistaken? I dont know why, but when I am around this man or on the phone with him, I turn into a little girl and forget my head. (never been this way with any doc before). Amber

Guest guest
NO, you are NOT thinking wrong. Your T3, as you probably already know, is yes, "normal", but should probably be in the upper range of normal. Obviously it's not. When did your endo get to be a TSH freak? I hope you're putting up the argument about it not needing to be stimulated, so therefore, the .0 philosophy really isn't going to matter, as long as the Free T3, Free T4 readings aren't way up in the hyper range. In your case, those two being way up and beyond are the ones that could make you hyper, not the TSH. These poor doctors are so confused. Why is it that we aren't? In your case, you're "feeding" your body the hormone, you're not feeding your thyroid. What sort of argument did you give him Amber? Unless you have a big hyper goiter sitting there, that has been pumped up by too much hormone. I just don't understand why doctors can't see the logic here! As a matter of fact, I'd be saying add a little T3 to the mix, unless you're feeling awfully well these days. Tx HELP !!!! My Endo Called Me when I sent him my Lab Results. Tell Me if This Sounds Right :::: Free t3 2.8 (2.3 - 4.2) Free t4 1.1 (0.8 - 1.8) TSH .02 (0.35 - 5.50) I am currently Taking .15mg Levothroid. I Had RAI--I have No Thyroid ***Endo says he wants to LOWER my Levothroid to .125mg because my TSH is Low and he thinks that part of my thyroid may have grown back a little. Because my free's have lowered over the past few months. Let me know if LOWERING my Levothroid to .125 will help me. **Maybe I have lost my marbles momentarily, but I thought that if my Frees were low I needed to take MORE meds. Am I thinking Wrong here? Help Me Please Amber
Guest guest
If you're feeling good on what you're on and the amt, why should you change it? It sounds like your doc is scared about a standard-of-care situation, who knows. At any rate, you want to reserve the way you feel right now, so tell him how wonderful you're feeling on this dose and that you're not feeling any hyper symptoms at all and that you don't want to change to the lower dose. If he won't listen to you, you may have to order your own to keep it going at that dose. Then, look for a new doctor, if he still won't listen. This is your health we're talking about here. Broach the sbjct of why it doesn't matter about the TSH, if you have NO thyroid function. He's saying it's growing back "a little bit"? Let him prove that with a scan. Did he have all your records right there in front of him when he was telling you this? Is he the original one that told you that you have no function left in your thyroid? Let him prove that it has more function than it did. You've got to get aggressive here, or you're not going to be feeling well, despite having an endo. What good is he if you're not going to be feeling well? Tx Re: HELP !!!! , I feel so stupid. I lose my head when I am around him.
