Orgasms add a peak of oxytocin, which should speed things up a tad.

But remember: the kid will come when it's good and ready.

A couple years ago one overdue lady asked a MD friend the same thing.

The MD said " you should, you know, just " do " things. " (where " doing

things " (puuhastella) is to have sex, in Finnish, in addition to the more

innocent meanings). The overdue lady asked back a week later: " The house is

sparkling clean, I've done everything I can think of, and there's _still_

no change! "

You snigger, but think of the poor lady, eh? She could've had fun instead

of cleaning house ...

Hi Marcia,

I've had one overdue patient, and like yourself was wary (believing that

they come, when they're ready), but got hold of the following " induction

mix " (I believe it came from Helen Stapleton originally?)

Caulophyllum 10

Artemisia vulg 5

Cimicifuga 15

Capsicum 1

Leonorus 30

Tarax rad 30

Rosmarinus 10

5ml qid

which I adjusted to Cimicifuga, Capsicum, Tarax rad FE, Leonorus,

Rosmarinus, Scutellaria, Verbena, Valeriana, plus Mimulus & Walnut. In her

case (3rd pregn)her 2nd had been a stillbirth, and she was understandingly

anxious. She had planned a homebirth, which in the end didn't happen, but

she felt a lot calmer, and didn't need an induction, and all went well.

Hope this helps

All the best

overdue pregnancy

I currently have a close friend who is overdue and was inquiring as to

possible herbs to use for inducing labour. She is under the observation of

a midwife who has offered no suggestion, which I completely understand (

possible legal implications). This is something I never covered in the

course of study, nor encountered in clinical training. If someone has

experience in this, any suggestions would be appreciated, as well perhaps

suggestion of literature written by people that have experience. I am very

wary of using anything in pregnancy and so presently I explained that

unfortunately I cannot suggest anything.

Thankyou,

Marcia
