There is a download site here where you can get a zipped file and once you have it open at your leisure and try some. This is a web site that has recipes for a lot of different mixes that can save you money. Enjoy! Instant Flavored Oatmeal For each bowl of oatmeal you want to have a mixture of 1/2 cup oats (regular oats, as the 'quick' kind is unnecessary), 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, one tbsp brown sugar (I like it pretty sweet), and one tbsp chopped dried fruit (such as apples or dates). It's easiest to make up in batches of 4 or 16 servings: for 4 servings, mix up: 2 cups of oats, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup dried fruit for 16 servings, mix up: 8 cups of oats, 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 cup brown sugar. and 1 cup dried fruit Mix all these dry ingredients together. To make one bowl, scoop 1/2 cup of the mixture into a bowl, add one cup water, and microwave for three or four minutes. Let stand for another 3 or 4 minutes and then it's perfect. Buy all the ingredients in bulk to save even more. Have you ever made oatmeal and used applejuice instead of water? Also I like cream of wheat, both plain or whole wheat. To prevent it from going lumpy as you cook it, use a whisk. Lump Free! ALL-PURPOSE GROUND MEAT MIX (Makes about 12 cups) This is a basic ground meat mix that can be used in many casseroles and recipes that require a meat mixture. A small amount of cornstarch sprinkled and mixed in on shredded cheese keeps it from sticking together while in the fridge. 5 pounds ground meat (beef or turkey) 2 cups celery, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 2 cups onion, chopped 1 cup green pepper, diced 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon salt (optional) 2 cans of mushroom pieces In a large pot, brown ground meat. Drain. Stir in celery, garlic, onion, green pepper, salt and pepper; cover and simmer about ten minutes until vegetables are tender but not soft. You can use this mixture immediately during your cooking session or freeze in two cup portions for later use. SUGGESTED USES (be creative): TACOS: Add one package taco seasoning to two cups All Purpose Ground Meat Mix (follow package directions for amount of water). Freeze. To serve: thaw and heat taco mixture; prepare tacos as you would normally. TACO POTATOES: Follow instructions for taco mixture (above), but serve the mixture over baked potatoes instead of tortillas or taco shells. Top with grated cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream, sliced green onions, sliced black olives and salsa. EASY TACO SALADS: Follow instructions for taco mixture; place a layer of corn chips or tortilla chips on plate; spoon taco mixture over chips; add layer of shredded lettuce; add diced tomatoes, sliced green onions, sliced black olives, sour cream and salsa. SLOPPY JOE'S: In a large skillet, place two cups Ground Meat Mix, one (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato soup, two Tablespoons brown sugar, and one teaspoon prepared mustard. Stir. Cover and simmer ten minutes. Serve ladled onto hamburger buns. Peace D.
