Guest guest
, If he's taking any B6, make sure the whole dose is before lunchtime. High (or any) doses of B6 could cause those problems if taken too late in the day. This also includes P5P. a H.
Guest guest
You might try a small dose of melatonin and see if that helps. It might get you over the hump of sleeping problems until things straighten out. OT - sleep problems Hi, Can anyone advise me how to help my NT child with sleep issues. He can't relax at night and has terrible nightmares and is often awake and scared during the night. I have tried lavender to aid sleep but does anyone have any advice? With many thanks
Guest guest
Elaine Gottschall in her book on the SCD Breaking the Vicious Cycle talks about night time problems. Maybe there is a connection between your child's diet and the symptoms? Just a thought. Guest guest
, Besides all the good advice you're getting about supplements, I wonder if you have probed into the nightmares themselves. I don't know how old your NT child is, but even young children who are able to communicate can profitably work with their dreams--particularly their nightmares. For young children, as I'm sure you know, dreams are very real.(They are!!!) Children don't slip into that place of feeling: " it was only a dream " until they are older--and hopefully they never do. Our son, around the ages of 6-10 actually felt the nightmare images and figures were a reality that lived in his room. I worked with him on that level, did ceremony (smuging with sage) in his room to clear the threatening creatures and then spent a lot of time talking about what the dreams " might " mean. We never analyzed them but held them as stories of the night. He became a wonderful dreamer and has continued to share his dreams at the age of 34. Guest guest
, in your shoes I would try both (separately) homeopathic passiflora, available from Ainsworths by phone in London, and valerian. I'm not sure of the dose though for valerian. HTH. Abbie OT - sleep problems > > Hi, > Can anyone advise me how to help my NT child with sleep issues.
