Guest guest
I have used L-glutamine for several pts. One had IBS which was characterised by loose stool. The L-glutamine helped to slow things down, obviously in conjunction with her herbal Rx, and she found it really useful. I left her pretty much in charge of how much of the L-glutamine she used, I've found that too much can lead to constipation. Her Sx all calmed down considerably to the point where she felt pretty much in control, so I haven't seen her for some time now. I've only recently given L-glutamine to another pt who has Crohns Disease so haven't heard how she's getting on with it yet. A pt who is having chemotherapy combined with Herceptin for a recurrence of breast cancer is also using L-glutamine along with a herbal Rx and other supplements. The horrible digestive Sx which she experienced with the treatment for the original cancer 7 yrs ago (when she wasn't using herbs or supplements), are much milder this time and she's very pleased with how well she's feeling. I've always used Lamberts capsules which I suppose you could open and empty out contents. Hope this helps, though not really what you asked for! With regards Sue Salmon Huddersfield, W Yorks. L glutamine Does anyone have any experience of using L-glutamine in leaky gut patients, and any good sources (of powder rather than capsules ) please. I am interested in using it particularly with CFS patients. with best wishes Herbert
Guest guest
- Best place to get it is sports centres /shops that cater to body builders. Usually available in kilo containers. Far cheaper. Recent research suggests higher doses are best, between 10-20 gm per day rather than 500 mg tid jonathan > > Reply-To: ukherbal-list > Date: Tue, 8 Jun 2004 21:02:41 +0100 > To: <ukherbal-list > > Subject: L glutamine > > Does anyone have any experience of using L-glutamine in leaky gut patients, > and any good sources (of powder rather than capsules ) please. Guest guest
What kind of measurement (US terms) would 10-20 grams be, ? My apologies for being ignorant on this one... how can I convert that to something I am familiar with? Thanks, Tami B. Guest guest
I have used this in powder form for children as young as 3yrs. The particular 3yr old benefited enormously - he was diagnosed as autistic spectrum and is wheat and milk sensitive. Dose, half a tsp was added to food.
