The doctors have been trying to treat my nausea and so far phenergan is working great. In December I was so sick, nausea was ruining everything. My hepatologist gave me what he called " the little old lady dose " , which is 7 and one half milligrams. The generic name is promethazine, but the trade name is phenergan. It is a antihistamine as well as anti emetic, so it tends to help with itching too. Re: Question ? My wife had ascites develop the last 6-8 months of her life but didn't experience nausea with it. She was small framed and her ascites didn't put pressure on her stomach or breathing etc. Has your husband had a paracentesis done to remove the fluid?MaC ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __
