I Think I would always use Lycopus in raised thyroid. I had very good

results using a changing Rx based around Lycopus and Leonorus. Also

some crataegus to protect the heart

Hi Sally,

Thanks for the swift reply. I am planning to order some lycopus asap. I know

it is reputed as a good one but have not had call to use it so far so nice

to get feed back on it.

Did your patient manage to avoid having the orthodox drugs, or were they

already on them?

Hannah.

Dear - cases of hyperthyroidism can often settle on their own, especially

if there is a swing between hyper and hypo. I have had some patients who have

been advised to take meds, but after 3 months, everything settled down - stress

can be a major trigger. With regards to meds it will depend on the severity of

the condition - risk vs. benefit etc. I have found Lycopus, Leonorus,

and Passiflora the most effective, together with linseeds every day.

Hope this helps

Hi Hannah

I've treated several women like this and they all managed to stay off the

carbimazole. i always use lycopus, valeriana, crataegus (you can slip in 5

or 10ml of FE and have room left in the Rx) and leonurus. often also vitex,

which i certainly use in hyhpothyroid conditions. in hyperthyroid i've

noticed that vitex seems to upset sex hormones. any ideas, anyone? liver

support is also pretty important if you're overproducing any hormone - its

nice to speed up its exit. kelp is most definitely contra-indicated. don't

beleive anything you see saying its a thyroid balancer. it isnt. its a

thyroid stimulant which is very effective for hypothyroid in huge doses

over a long time. why was she offered thyroxine? its not usually used for

simple hyperthyroid unless i'm missing something.
