Guest guest
I have always contributed my banding journey success to the support, advice and friendship I have gained through these support groups, initially Ozband and Sydney Bandsters. When Ghyll started Sydband I was asked to be a Moderator. I had no real desire or ambition but because I have internet access all day Ghyll thought I might be able to help when others were not available. The ethos of Sydband was foremost friendship and support, somewhere we could all visit to air any and everything, no holds barred. Recently, I personally feel an air of contention creeping into the site and I want to say for me it is devastating. If, for any reason anything happens to create splits or disharmony in this group it would be the saddest day for over 120 members. If someone wants to organise something, for instance the 10 pin bowling night is a good example, why can't it be posted, everyone invited? Those who can and want to attend great, if it does not suit there is no pressure but that does not prevent anyone else organising another function in a different location. I have never been one for agendas, forums, quorums, meetings or anything else formal. Personally I am a fly by the seat of your pants type person. I will continue to log on here, try to be positive, support those wanting and needing the support, advising where I can and having fun while doing it. Can we please undertake not to let personalities, ruffled feathers and fragile temperaments cause rifts in our happy home away from home. It would be just disastrous and it is so unnecessary. I think it is important to remember no one here is more important or less entitled than any other member. Maree
