Guest guest
Shari, good questions. I don't have the amount of recommended vitamin E to hand although frommemory, it might be 400 i.u.'s. (or mg - ?? help) I do know that if you are giving EFA's, it is recommended to give Vitamin E also to protect against the oils oxidizing - I think that's the correct verb - in their bodies. Someone else will help out here! Guest guest
I'm interested in the Vit E. That's the one vitamin that we are not giving our daughter. We don't use a general supplement - we use individual doses of B.C.A,zinc, mag/cal. How much E does a child need and can they get too much fat soluble vitamins in their system such as E,A and D? More specifically - are the different fat soluble vitamins causing stress on the liver if they are combined? Guest guest
Sunil, Are you giving TABLESPOONS or TEASPOONS? 6 Tablespoons of each seems like a lot. My 4 year old son (36 lbs)takes Brainchild - we are still working our way up to the full dose - but I thought the recommended dose for him worked out to be something like 3 1/2 tsp a day of each. The nutritional info listed on the bottle is per 6 tsp ( I think - I'm at work and can't double check the bottle right now). Guest guest
I seriously doubt it; you need to do testing on his copper and zinc levels and also RBC minerals to see what he still needs (do not stop what he's doing so you can see how well he is being supplemented on your current program). However, he should of course not be given the mineral/vitamins on the day of the blood draw - it would just show that intake and not his steady state.
