Guest guest
Child has been gfcf since April of 2001 soy and peanut free since June of 2003 and we limit corn and tomatoes. She refuses to eat a lot of foods, like apples and oranges. We're heavy into biomedical, and have made terrific improvements with her eczema, but spring and summer, bare legs in the grass, seem to make matters much worse every year. Now, she's picking and scratching and picking and scratching. I'm a Southern girl livin' in a cold midwestern state who complains about the short summers and painfully cold winters, so don't tell anyone that I'm wishin' for a good hard killin' frost to kill all the crap that makes us itch and sneeze this time of year! > I don't know anything about this product but Gaiam is a terrific company. Guest guest
My daughter has had eczema since she was 18 months. Over the years we tried many different things. When she was 17 we went to a new NP who suggested it might be eggs and it was. She can't eat anything with eggs it make the eczema to flair immediately. We also used topical zinc, and herbs on her skin. I would smear her arms and put on long mens cotton tube socks at night so it cut down on her ability to scratch and it kept the bedding from being covered in cream. At one point we bought a zinc spray that worked really well but burned if she was having a bas flair up. Her skin stays clear now though if she stays away from eggs. Easier said than done though. I hope you find an answer. It can be hard to figure out what food is causing the problem. -Joyce > > Message: 8 > > Date: Sat, 25 Sep 2004 23:02:22 -0000 > > > > Subject: Re: Re.a little off topic: itch stopper > () > > > > Child has been gfcf since April of 2001 > > soy and peanut free since June of 2003 > > and we limit corn and tomatoes. > > She refuses to eat a lot of foods, like apples and > oranges. > > > > We're heavy into biomedical, and have made > terrific improvements > > with her eczema, but spring and summer, bare legs > in the grass, seem > > to make matters much worse every year. Guest guest
The things which cause itching in my son, more than anything else, are spices, garlic, citric acid (it's in a lot of prepared food), and corn. Of course there are lots of other foods, but it pays to keep a log of food eaten and symptoms to figure it out. a H.
