Guest guest Posted October 25, 2004 Report Share Posted October 25, 2004 Hi ! the use of Lycopodium as a herb is pretty controversial because of its toxicity (alkaloids). supposed to be diuretic and a liver herb. I know that a friend of mine in Germany prescribes it - which I was really surprised to hear, because i thought it was only safe in homoeopathic doses. Which part of Lycopodium? The leaf is used for kidney and urinary tract trouble, the powder as a dusting for weepy rashes and to make nice colors in fire. The leaf is vaguely toxic, not all that much; the powder is unfortunately irritating to a lot of people (the numbers I've seen were 1/5 and 1/10).
