Guest guest
Hi Jung-Fire friends, Ah Frances, I only wish I were a musician of any talented degree. That was my first desire and impulse as a child, but some sort of hearing impairment called tinnitus, which first occurred at age 16, plus a major lazy streak when it came to practicing this divine art, put an end to all but a little plinking on the 6-strings for me. But I Do smack a good Gong now and then. Ha! I guess that is why I've become more autistically inclined into the realm of the abstract over the years, enjoying numbers, games, puzzles, word-plays etc. My children on the other hand, are well on their way into this realm of music, and continue to surprise me by their quick reflexes and adaptiveness that is crucial to its performance. And Cheryl, there are no lost chords, that your father may have been searching for, but there has been something of a loss in musical harmonics that has occurred as a result of the modern world's adaptation of what is known as " Tempered Musical Scales " that was first introduced into Western culture by J.S. Bach in the 1800's, which later became a major influence on W.A. Mozart. This subject is a subchapter in my book as well, but it can be readily researched to gain an understanding of what I am referring to. Only an acute and sensitive musician could possibly be aware of the difference in the two modes and what one may hear in their mind, but cannot be expressed to the degree they would like because of this change. Today's music has tremendous range and virtuosity as a result of this change, but it does lack a little in depths of harmonic overtones it can achieve as a result. Well now Muse, I read your excerpt from the story you posted about the Cup of Lethe and the Well, and I seem to recall either that story or a variant of it, as something out of my readings as a child, but it has a dream like quality to it now, so could you tell me where its from? Please don''t say its from your own original pen! That would be totally,, you know,, Inexplicable! I'm also wondering why you would want to mention that, " Templi Omnium Hominum Pacis Abbas " , (Baphomet backwards), to Mike in connection to his dream post about St. 's Wort. You know that supposedly secret magical cult of the Knight Templers, that somehow got mixed into the posts of yours and others concerning the Golden Dawn group in England. My opinion is that these old magical orders aren't nearly what they are quacked up to be, or at least like they used to be in this new modern age of technology. Especially at keeping secrets, Ha! I mean its not like they are capable of landing a 165 million dollar spacecraft on Mars or nothing, although they may have at one time been able to do something just as equivalent. Which reminds me, I just got a newsflash to convey from Frosty's Popcicle Kart to share,,, Frosty's: " Reliable rumors has it that the Mars Lander, after touching ground, and taking a look around, was promptly shut down to give all the head NASA bigwigs a chance to figure out what appeared to be a message to someone named at Jung-Fire (whatever that is) stamped into the frozen soil in " Duck footprints " which read,,IOU,,(end of transmission). Hmm,, I never really said What Jolly ol Soul, at which Pole, or even what planet for that matter. Curiouser and Curiouser! Now where was I, oh yeah, my introduction,(I won't call it an initiation because my awareness came through the wide open backdoor instead of the front), to this magical order, came about sometime around 1974 as I recall. Now in those days I was a rather footloose fancy free longhaired hippie photographer, hangin out in this aging district of Raleigh called 5-Points. I was partying most of my nights away in this really cool club called the " Goatshead " then. This area reminds me of what was once one of your own neighborhoods in D.C. called town, but without all those quaint cobblestoned streets, that I visited briefly the following year around the 4th. of July. I guess its all Revolutionary related somehow, as the head Masonic Lodge in Raleigh was just around the corner from my pad at the time. Alas, I was much too poor from all that partying to go through any formal initiations, oaths of secrecy, observants of rites, rituals, and proverbial membership dues etc. to get all that well connected with this group. It was interesting none the less, but it wouldn't hold a candle now to what I regard that we have going on right here at Jung-Fire somehow. The streams of conciousness, and the unconcious flowing in this sacred place are definitely Heaven sent in my opinion, (however humble). Think about it.
