Guest guest
thanks for all the advice re daughter and dyslexia... now another query. I have a pt with gout who has put herself on a very restricted diet found via the web. When I have had other pts, all has gone well with just avoiding purines and alcohol. What do others find (bearing in mind everyone is individual etc) is a good baseline diet with gout. She was avoiding yeast etc, it looked to me like a anti candida approach. hilary -- Whatever you Wanadoo: http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/time/ This email has been checked for most known viruses - find out more at: http://www.wanadoo.co.uk/help/id/7098.htm
Guest guest
Hi I have huge, fast success with gout - guess a lot of us do. avoid purines and anything containing oxalic acid (rhubarb, spinach), alcohol. add in cherries and loads of filtered or bottled water. treat with high doses of apium plus smaller amounts of Eupatorium purp. or Tarax. fol (don't find so effective) and treat the kidney. add anti- inflammatory of choice. i also do brief allergy testing if it seems appropriate. recent pt.(treated his son for gout years ago): presentedwith acute gout in both feet - could hardly walk. odd purple colour but pulses good. also had persistent fuzzy headache. history of milder gout sx. a few days per year. this episode had persisted for months. onset in hospital undergoing bowel investigation - Dx. diverticulitis. drank a lot of orange juice in hosp - knows it affect him - but told to increase wheat fibre hugely. testing showed sensitivity to oranges and wheat. removed these from diet and Rx. as above. All gout, bowel and headache sx. resolved within 4 days and have not recurred in 2 months. nne ==================================================== nne Last BA MNIMH Consultant Medical Herbalist Monmouth Herbal Clinic Tel: 01600 719497 www.mariannelast.co.uk re: gout thanks for all the advice re daughter and dyslexia... now another query. Guest guest
Lead exposure (occupation - plumber) damaged kidney function, resultant hypertension, precipitated gout in 'slim' patient. Worth checking for heavy metals exposure in all cases of gout? (hair analysis, life style, etc? ) Caroline re: gout thanks for all the advice re daughter and dyslexia... now another query.
