Guest guest
Maree, your post really made me laugh (the thought of looking forward to the needles/needles = weight loss) - but can see this happening, thanks for your input. > > G'day Chriss, > 10 kgs. is a great weight loss, good on you. Guest guest
Wow, , thanks for your post. I see things will get very " interesting " after a fill... at the moment, it's very easy to eat and drink at the same time. In fact, I feel no different to before the band, except I'm eating a bit less. I can live without junk food, I've got more of a problem with volume of food (eat until I'm stuffed). I like chocolate, but don't crave it, and I'm able to leave it in the cupboard for the kids, and since banding I've been mostly leaving the biscuits alone (these are a big weakness (crunch)). I'm really scared of having these pb episodes everyone's describing but I wonder if you need to have one at least to give you a wake-up call, that things really have changed now and you've got to follow these rules.. I'm finding it hard to understand - Nic, you said the fizzy drink brought on your pb, however I've also read fizzy drinks can help if you've got something stuck. I assumed that it helped the food go down, but I guess its the opposite? I'm sorry to say I laughed at your description of your mad dash and twisted expression, thinking " that'll be me soon " - gosh this is an interesting journey... Guest guest
Thanks Cheryl, I feel good, just expected weight to drop off at the rate it did on optifast, liquids and mushies. Can't understand why that isn't the case.....? (lol) > > Congratulations Chriss... > > I am so envious a " model bandit " I fall off the band wagon so easily. Guest guest
Hi Chriss It will be interesting after a couple of fills, the first one you might not notice - I know I didn't. It has been this second fill taking me up to 7ml that has given me the heads up. Fizzy will usually dislodge a blockage - there are only two ways for it to go up or down. So my little pb with Zero yesterday was not what I wanted but anyway... You will soon learn that upon entering a social setting you will not be scoping out the hot guys or where the buffet is - but it will be where the loo's are. You will also find yourself strategically placing yourself within brisk walking distance, LOL. You might also learn, as I have yet to, that your eyes will water and so it is best not to use kohl on the lower rim of your eyes because it runs. Last week when I had my fill I was chocker, thought there was every possibility I was going back to have some out. Today I think there is every possibility I will be ringing to see if I can go and get that last mil that I imagine I will be able to cope with. Guest guest
Hi Chriss Fizzy drink are a real puzzle, some days they can cause me a PB other days I can gulp them without a problem. My doctor recommends soda water for a blockage. Personally I like to use ENO, I’ve never had a blockage that it hasn’t been able to clear. I need to be close to a toilet or sink though because with a minute or two after drinking it I usually give a very loud burp and sometime the blockage will dislodge and come up and I need to spit it out. Kind regards Leanne from Gold Coast Banded 24/01/05 Dr 8.8ml in a 9ml SAGB Band (10 fills) 170cm/Start 124k/Current 85k/First goal was 90k/Next goal 70k
Guest guest
Hi Leanne, thanks for the info about pbs and Eno (I'll be sure to have some on hand, in case.) Also, best wishes to your sister.
