Hi Lizzie

I personally never ever take eleuthrococcus and only prescribe carefully -

because i'm a caffeine-freak. i learnt not to mix them many years ago when

taking the capsules to help with my part 1 exams - and spent 4 hours

literally on the floor with what i guessed was an adrenal reaction. so how

much coffee do they drink? or have they drunk in the past?

eleuthrococcus headaches?

hi

a neighbour of mine came to me asking about eleuthrococcus and headaches.

both she and her daughter had been taking the same capsules, and were both

suffering tremendous headaches, not knowing at the time that the other was

also having headaches. i have looked for contraindications in a few books

and the web, but come up with very little.

any thoughts?

maybe another substance in the caps is all i can think of.

Heh. Adulterate a cheap product with one of the most expensive herbs out

there?

It's possible, I guess, but not very likely.

I have found that in the odd patient giving Eleuc and Gly together may

increase blood pressure. I put this down to adrenal stimulus, could not the

same maechanism generate a headache, in the odd few patients this has

happened with some complained of headaches,

Perhaps it is adulterated with Panax spp. - the true ginsengs. I use

Eleuthero a lot and headaches have never been a feature. I am more wary of

Panax tho'.
