Hi Isa,

I don't know in GE. I would translate something like " telemetry with a wand "

and " telemetry without wand " .

A telemetry wand is a device used for wireless communication with a device

(neurostimulator, pacemaker, defibrillator, etc.) implanted into the

patient's body. The telemetry wand is physically connected (by a cable) to a

programmer (could be a computer loaded with a software) for analysing the

collected data and sending instructions to the implanted device. The

telemetry wand is held above the site of implantation of the implanted

device (at a short distance) during the communication between the implanted

device and the programmer. LED indicators on the wand indicate if the

wireless connection is correct. I guess wandless telemetry is a kind of

telemetry without a wand but I never heard anything about that.

I hope it helps,

f
