One thing I have found effective in a couple of cases is a decoction of

Smilax. One person taking it said the psoriasis was practically

disappearing as he watched. Slight exaggeration, I think, but it did clear

up a lot. He had already done a lot of work with diet and lifestyle before

he came to see me, but his psoriasis was quite severe adn widespread. The

dose was a teaspoonful three times a day decocted for 10-15 minutes.

The best herbs I came across for Psoriasis are Berberis aquifolium (5ml tds), hempseed oil (5ml tds) and Boswellia serrata (it has an anti-leukotriene effect)

i find that a cream with stellaria, symphytum and hypericum will give some

initial results. this gives you some time to sort out what it's really

happening. i can't give you any measurements on the cream because i always

just do it. but i did have some amazing results with such a basic cream, so

try it. sometimes it is mind boggling how little people understand about the

most basic things about skin care, and often just moisturising will make a

big difference.

There's certainly a link between skin problems and stress. Years ago I all of a

sudden became allergic to yeast and gluton where my skin would just peel off. I

had loads of eczema too. My doctor gave me creams but I eventually discovered

what I was allergic to by eliminating things from my diet. I knew it was stress

related and a few years later I became able to eat these foods again.

You probably already know but with psoiasis it is necessary to get plenty of sun

to get your vitamin D levels up. I take 5000 iu a day which is a pretty hefty

dose and many doctors would waren against doing this. I have had no problems,

though, and my alopecia, has completely stopped.

theres definately a connection between ssri and skin problems. since taking

effexor i have problems with ekzema in my face. for any reason the problems got

worse when i stopped effexor. but also my emotional blunting and the pssd

developed only after quitting effexor.
