Just knocking on all the doors in the Veg Macrobiotic hallway

here to wish you'al a Peak -Year ahead. We still have a few days

left of 04 to enjoy still!

To make veg eggnog use almond amazake with some nutmeg

added. It's very delicious. I forget if there is another ingredient in

eggnog that gives it that wonderful taste. Vanilla? My father used

to enjoy spiked eggnog. (Cheers Dad!! A Yahoo to your memory.)

Joanna and I had a nice Christmas while on the road to Death

Valley. For amusement Xmas morning we put red collars with

bells on our two doggies! To hear real Jingle Bells! We then

went birdwatching by the river in Big Pine,Owens Valley to

discover the resident Falcon pair and a Golden Eagle making a

spiral assent in the warming air and then drove east to the vast

Eureka Dunes. Joanna climbed to their crest (700 ft) while I drew

in pastels the lovely purple hued shadows. After a whole day of

rough roads we were very thankful for the gift of smooth

macadam for the last 50 miles to Stovepipe Wells!

We missed Cornwall because of a greencard mix up. We heard

from Joanna's parents that it snowed there on Christmas day-

many people place wagers on that happening.

We saw snow on our last day in the Southern Sierra on the

Trees. What a sight!

We took our small rice cooker and stayed mostly in motels with

kitchens. I made buckwheat soba Christmas eve. We had lots of

salads too. For snacks in the car we ate oatcakes and luna bars

with lots of water. No restaurants needed.

Dear Mike,

That all sounded so wonderfull in the midst of the tragic scene the eastern

world now is going through.

Thanks a lot for the advice when it comes to eggnog.

Happy New Year to everybody!
