Greg,

I see this board as being dynamic in nature, which means that the

color schemes we have now are by no means permanent. I will be

changing color schemes from time to time. I will be working on

various other logos also.

If you have any color schemes in addition to the ones you have

offered below, or if you'd like to be more specific, I would

consider implementing some of them from time to time. (And that goes

for all members. I may run the board, but you all post here, so you

all ought to have a say on stuff like this).

The three things I would like you to keep in mind when

conceptualizing color designs are that,

1) As and Lonermutant have indicated/suggested, some folks

have problems reading text against bright colors, and

2) The " look " I am looking for is a formal one. That's rather

selfish I know, but that's sort of what I am aiming for here.

The " feel " I would like to generate is one of a private and intimite

association, rather than JUST a group or a social club.

3) I also would like the row color to be the same as the background

color. It's a quirky thing, but I think having two different colors

makes the message board page in particular look too busy and like a

bookkeeper's spreadsheet.

Any color scheme that you'd like to suggest will be open for

consideration, however.

I may post a different logo as soon as today. This one will have

more colors in it and so perhaps you could design a board color

scheme for it also.

I too have problems with bright colors.

Hm, is it only me who see a bit of a contradiction between " formal " and

" private & intimate " ?

LOL! You're right, actually! I hadn't thought of that.

Great. What also needs to be taken into consideration is the fact that the

cool colors of the text (blue and purple) tends to clash with warm colors

like russet, olive and gold.

I just got Leif's permission to customize his other Yahoo-groups too, so

I'll experiment a bit there and see if I can come up with any acceptable

combinations. (As an ex color consultant, I'm rather fussy with precise

shades, and usually prefer to create my own softer shades instead of

choosing from the crude and bright standard colors.)

On this board, the Aspie creator made a feature so that each person could

choose from several combinations (most of which I provided) by pressing the

little colored sqares:

But that seems not to be possible in Yahoo-groups. So naturally it's

difficult to find colors which will suit everyones taste. Who was it that

had a link on how to customize colors for one's own screen only? I'd be very

interested in that.
