Guest guest
Are you thinking of going?? I have a mb friend, Nissim, who's considering moving there. He's been there often and has only good things to say about it. He works for an airline so is difficult to reach sometimes, but if you'd like, I can try to connect you two up. Guest guest
I'm really wanting to go at the end of May but don't want to have to get shots. I hear you need to take malaria pills, get typhoid and Hep A and C. I'm hoping someone was able to go without getting them done and can give me some advice on how to avoid the 'needed' shots to go. I'm sooo against shots, I'm wondering about the real risks, including Avian (bird)flu. Guest guest
From what I understand, you're not required to get any shots to go to Thailand. Other things might be advised, but whether or not you want to get them is up to you, and obviously you don't. I live in China and heard all sorts of scare stories before I came here. I got no shots and have never had the slightest problem other than the usual stomach adjustment (and you will go through that, too, I promise). Don't drink the water, though. Only drink boiled or bottled. Amber > > I'm really wanting to go at the end of May but don't want to have to get shots. I hear you need to take malaria pills, get typhoid and Hep A and C. Guest guest
I here it is beautiful! I'm planning on doing Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Don't want to get any of the shots my doctor is recommending. ...also don't want to drop dead out there from something. " ...become the change you envision." Guest guest
Did you not get sick from the shots? I'm so worried about shots. I'm not a believer in them. I know Reg has been too but haven't heard from her. I"m wanting to also take Thai Massage out there. Suggestions on what to do, where to eat, etc would be greatly appreciated. I didn't get any special shots to go there, but I've already had Hep A. Hep C is not a concern unless you have sex with someone or use needles. I took some good bug repellent, because malaria IS an issue, but I don't think you have to take the pills. If you're going to be in the city the whole time, it's not anything to worry about. There is no reason to fear bird flu. You'd be totally fine, and you'd have an amazing time there. There is so much to see and do. It's a beautiful place with really warm people.> > Has anyone been?> > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Jungle Juice !!!!! I only heard that expression from one guy who makes this concoction for his garden, not sure all what he puts in it, but the biggy is some kinds of weeds and human urine, his!!! It's really not all that offensive as it may seem, once you start doing the research (the humanure handbook, can google for it, think that's the correct title, if not, I'll get back to you with it), amazing what can be recycled on this planet. This person says in China (I believe it's there) people try to outdo each other with public fancy composter toilets, so they can attract people to use their toilets and create compost for their gardens. Amazing world out there, no? Klaraleslieanneashburn wrote: , I wish I knew something good, but the macro version of a pill is definitely umeboshi (and avoiding sugar or other foods that will give your body an acid condition). The bug spray is another toxic hazard, but I figured it would be the lesser of the two evils (compared with malaria). What I used was Jungle Juice from REI (you can order this online too). That sounds great to learn the massage from the masters. What a wonderful opportunity!Keep us posted.> > > > Has anyone been?> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
