Guest guest
Hi Lucy, I don't think you are lazy, you just feel very poorly. You could be having one of the extra spirts of hormone that some Hashi people get now and then. I know from experience that when I was over medicated I thought I needed my med to be increase just a bit more. I felt like I was getting more Hypo when, in fact, I was getting hyper. When you are living this you, falsely, are sure that you need more meds not less. The out of breath feeling, brain fog and irritability was exactly how I felt. I had all the symptoms you mention. Many symptoms in Hashis and Graves are the same. With being hyper so much is going on within the body. Like muscle and destruction, and the lungs and heart trying to keep up that a person can feel like utter crud because their energy is being drained. It would be helpful if you could get the numbers for FT3 & FT4. I would follow the docs advice and reduce the med, and retest in 6-8 weeks. IMHO, being hyper --overmedicated-- is much worse than being hypo. Hope this helps, ~Bj > > Hi all, > I haven't been on here much for a long time but am needing a little advice now please if anyone has the time. > > About a year ago I started on Levothyroxine, I had to fight for it as my thyroid levels were 'normal' (TSH was usually between 1 and 3) and then I was told it wouldn't make any difference to my very long list of hypo symptoms. Anyway, it did! Within a week I had sensitivity in my fingers and had lost the numbness and pins and needles. Over a few months my Levothyroxine was increased and my life began to return to normal. > > In the last month I've been feeling very tired again, my joints have started clicking again, a couple of times I've felt out of breath and a couple of times I've woken up not able to breath. I've started forgetting things again (keep going to work on the wrong days/times) and I just feel generally slugish and irritable. I had a blood test a few weeks ago and was thinking that I'd make an appointment with the GP to see if I can up my meds. I'm currently on 125mcg. However, today I recieved a phonecall from the gp saying that my blood results indicate that my TSH is too low (I think she said it was 0.3 and I think she said my free T? was up). She wants me to cut the Levothyroxine down to 100mcg and said maybe my symptoms were because I was hyper. It was suggested just before I started the Levothyroxine that I had CFS but I dismissed this. > > Any ideas? Could my system slowing down really be because I'm taking too much Levothyroxine? I said I'd make an appointment to see her, what questions do I need to ask? Maybe I'm just lazy > > Lucy X >
