Guest guest
Jeanine, I had done 1 push with my son before I realized that was not the safest method I could have done for my son. When I was at an ACAM conference and when I heard from Dr. Buttar (a Toxicologist who knows heavy metals and what methods to use to get them out, is when I used IV Ca EDTA drips. They were not fond of pushes by any means either). It sounds like your child responds very well to Ca EDTA. I think researching the best method/route you are comfortable with and safety will help you decide. There are other routes like suppositories too in which 3 or 4 suppositories is equal to 1 IV. I hope you can figure this out, as it a very sticky topic amongst many and not too many people like to respond to it. I will say, if I did it again I would not have done a push by any means. Suppositories are easy, in the comfort of your own home, and I do like the results I see with them. Best wishes Becky
Guest guest
I've done about 16 Ca-EDTA pushes myself. I also did 8 or so 3-hour drips. Traditionally, chelation practitioners (ACAM, etc.) have done drips and have balked at doing pushes. Indeed, pushing disodium EDTA (NOT Ca-EDTA) strips calcium from the heart and can result in death. Good reason to balk at doing pushes. However, Ca-EDTA and regular disodium EDTA are two different medications. They sound alike, but one is okay to push and the other may kill you if you push it. When getting these pushes, make sure you check each any every time that they are pushing Ca-EDTA and not the other type. Without fail. Be a pain in the butt! But if your child is tolerating the pushes, I would stay with that. It is hard to get a child to sit still for a 3-hour drip and I find I dump more on pushes than on drips. For those of you considering a Ca-EDTA push, try some low dose, oral EDTA first to help work up to the IVs, the start the first IV out pretty low and work up to the standard dose on subsequent IVs. Personally, I find IV days exhausting and I get very irritable. My daughter is 98% recovered and needs only Biochelate to get good pulls, so she's never received an IV. > > I know that this site is about MB12/ valtrex so pardon me for asking a chelation question, but > I am posting this to get input from other ASD parents. Don't most of the DAN! docs do pushes for > CA-EDTA? I know for a fact that a few of the main ones do.
