Guest guest
I have recently read a book titled ‘What If?’.  It is a collection of essays by eminent historians. It is a collective exercise where they have imagined what might have been. All the major historical events in the world since about 1000 BC have been evaluated. Simple accidents and split-second decisions have the potential to change the course of big events. History is replete with examples when previously-never-deliberated factors have influenced the circumstances very significantly. It is really fascinating to consider the assumptions about the different outcomes of the  most important events in the history. In fact, life itself is a big ‘what if’. What would have happened had I chosen a different profession or if I had not studied at MGIMS? There are many possibilities to ponder. But I am sure of something: I would not have known any one of you. Bharat 1979 Connect more, do more and share more with Yahoo! India Mail. I will quote Khuswant Singh " A more heroic tale has yet to be told....(Mohandas) is meticulously researched, written in felicitous prose and is a delight to read " The book has a special significance for all of us as some places (Sevagram and Wardha) and people (Badi Behenji and Vinoba Bhave) described in the book are part of our life also.
