Guest guest
The Late Dr Sandhu was friends with Diwan????? Vaddha Dr Sandhu used to take our evening clinics in surgery. He was the approachable one. My memories are his teaching us hydrocele examination. No gloves...... kneading the hydrocele whilst taking us thru the signs, symptoms, management etc etc. Very nice person. Helped us thru exam times etc. Mlaini From: mgims [mailto:mgims ] On Behalf Of bharat_7910 Sent: 30 December 2008 06:50 To: mgims Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] The Tale of Two Sandhus When people talk about 1979 Batch, the two Sandhus that we had immediately come to mind. They both were likeable persons. In fact, they believed in living life as was the philosophy propagated by our batch in general. However, the similarity ended there. They were different from each other in almost every other respect. One was tall and handsome; the other short. Hence they were known as the 'vaddha' Sandhu and the 'chotta' Sandhu, respectively. They both were the source of endless humour for us. Once the 'vaddha' Sandhu used a percussion hammer to start his bike for a month because he had lost the ignition key. He found the key later: it was under his pillow. The 'chotta' Sandhu was deadly with his satire. It was pure fun whenever they entered into a one-to-one discussion. The whole batch loved them. Unfortunately, the 'vaddha' Sandhu died in an accident in 1990. The other one is alive and well! I am sure his sense of humour will still be intact. Guest guest
The tale of two sandhus has got the people interested in recollecting who they were and what they did to become famous (or notorious). The details about the firang were deliberately held back. But the people already have some knowledge about that episode. I think I can now tell you what it was. The two Sandhus, along with two other guys from our batch, had gone to Goa for a holiday. It was there that Sandhu met a German girl. She found him so 'irresistible' that she followed him to Sewagram. The whole place was curious to find out what was going on. She even went to his parents' place. She had to leave finally. That was the end of Sandhu's German romance. However, this 'kissa' remained alive for a long time.
