Guest guest Posted October 4, 2006 Report Share Posted October 4, 2006 Hi all, I'm concerned my 9 y/o may have strep throat. I want to get her tested anyway. We're on day 60 something of Valtrex and she's been doing great but now she has dark circles under her eyes, a white tongue (it's usually pink), a red throat and complaining of a stomach ache. It's really easy to overlook when this kid is ill b/c she has gotten to the point where she doesn't run fevers much and hasn't in over a year. Also she has a high pain tolerance so for her to complain of her tummy it must hurt. My question is I will have to take her to our little town's family practice doc. She is clueless on all the biomed stuff and I think she thinks I'm a bit wacky for doing it. So, knowing she won't be up on anything is there any concern about taking the Valtrex with Amoxicillin or any other antibiotic if she does have strep? isn't a kid that has been on antibiotics a great deal.
