Guest guest
Wow! Thanks Jeff! I don't have Crohn's or digestional problems that I know of . . . but there's definitely a link between EN and arthritic-type pains and swellings. I wonder if they could find something if they took a biopsy of cells at the areas where tendons meet the bones? There's no RA showing up in our blood . . . but what if there's some kind of link-able cells to the EN or other kind of auto-immune or inflmatory disease there? I couldn't possibly be the only one thinking out of the box =) I'm sure someone has thought of that! I'm exhausted already . . . didn't sleep well and am in the middle of cleaning the bathroom . . . blech! Raining like the dickens up here in New England . . . good cleaning day! AND NAP DAY!! =) Thanks again, Jeff . . . and have a great day everyone! Guest guest
Dear M, What makes you feel anyone is thinking outside the box? What makes you feel any researchers are even thinking? Tell your doctor about your idea. She might appreciate your idea and have a way to testing it. After a remission of 62 days I started to flare up yesterday. All I can link to it was a huge bowl of popped corn.:-/ Maybe something in it triggered the EN. As I once said " if I had a nickle for every theory I self tested, I'd be rich(er) " . I'm continuing to wear the TEDS stocking and hopefully the lump will subside quickly. And I still want to get the new TB test we discussed. Sunny and nice here in Southern CA. A good day to do anything but clean house ;-) Happy weekend everyone! Shins up! Love,
Guest guest
LOL . . . you're funny! and it's probably true! =) I was also thinking of asking one of her students/interns if they need a research project for their dissertations? Don't medical doctors have to do those to get their doctorates?? There HAS to be research monies for students, don't ya think? She told her intern right in front of me that she wanted him to research EN and find some ideas after she spoke about the thelidomide, or whatever that was. Sorry to hear of your new lump . . . hope it takes a hike soon! I've yet to do the toilet and the floor . . . still workin on it =) Achillies are killing me, as are my lumps . . . and so much more to do. Husband is in Loudon, NH for the NASCAR race . . . he in an RV in a muddy field with 5 other buddies! Must be nice, huh? Not fair! Shins up! M =) > Dear M, > > What makes you feel anyone is thinking outside the box? What makes you > feel any researchers are even thinking? Tell your doctor about your > idea. Guest guest
M, as you can see from the research, ra is one thing, rather specific, there are numerous other arthritic types, luckily most nonerrosive in our case. ra seems to be more easily detectible from a straight forward blood test, of which i have had a few of these. on the other hand, enteropathic arthritis has sx's that are unmistakeable. it does not look like there is any straight forward blood test for these types of arthritis. jeff > > this appears to hit the nail on the head for M and myself. read > > about 1/2 ways down in the article. also referred to > as " Peripheral > > oligo-arthritis " . > > > > http://www.medinet.lk/journals/slcgp/familydoctor.htm > > > > jeff
