Guest guest
Hi, we're ready to start a Valtrex trial and I've been reading up. Am I correct when I say that many of you are using Diflucan while using Valtrex and you are chelating at the same time? We have been using TD-DMSA since April and I was under the impression that you had to stop your chelating while taking Diflucan. At least that's what we've done when we needed to treat the gut yuckies. We've taken a break from chelating, treated with Diflucan for 21 days then started back up. Just wanted to be clear before starting. I'm actually very nervous to start since my daughter is doing so well right now!! Thanks Sondra
Guest guest
We are also new to this list, my name is Millie and our son is 10 yo, Aspergers/PDD and has done well with diet and supps for 5 months. Last spring, he was jumping out of moving vehicles and running away having the police find him. The recovery so far has been miraculous. Some of you have already helped us in other lists (, you are an angel ) so thank you in advance. We got a prescription of Valtrex last night from the DAN doctor and they debated on thephone consult regarding dose. weighs 100 lb. and it went back and forth b/t 250mg and 500mg 2X/day for one month. (I thought it had to be more like 9 months to a year? They settled on the higher dose. Q:***Any advice on dosage/treatment time? I asked about Diflucan in conjunction as Stan had adviced, but they refused b/c he has none of those issues at the moment. Q:***Do we try the Valtrex "solo" to see how it goes? Or order Diflucan somewhere on our own ( I think that would be expensive). Or non Rx antifungal in place with Valtrex? Q:***Do we begin chelating at the same time or wait and see how the Valtrex works first? He shows extremely high lead (98 percentile). I am a little concerned to start all at once, but wouldn't hesitate if you feel it's prudent. Q:***Lastly, wash off the blue dye on the Valtrex tablets, right? Sorry to ask so many questions, but so excited to be on this list and learning everyday. Hoping that I can help others recover "older" kids down the road. Thanks so so much, Millie

THOSE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE NEARLY AS EFFECTIVE, ALTHOUGH A FEW PEOPLE SAW SOME GOOD THINGS WITH THEM > > Q:***Do we begin chelating at the same time or wait and see how the Valtrex works first? IT MIGHT BE BETTER IF YOU WAIT A WHILE, OTHERWISE 1.YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO EASILY JUDGE THE EFFECTS, IF ANY, 2. IF VALTREX WORKS IT JUST MIGHT HELP DETOX ITSELF (as getting rid of viruses according to some lets the body detox by itself) > > Q:***Lastly, wash off the blue dye on the Valtrex tablets, right? Guest guest
We thought we had yeast under control, but the Valtrex kicked up the yeast. From our experience I would have the Diflucan or Nizoral on board a couple weeks before starting the Valtrex. We even started seeing some positive results by this alone and then add the Valtrex. Best of luck. -------------- Original message from "natasa778" : -------------- > Q:***Do we try the Valtrex "solo" to see how it goes? Guest guest
Another reason to add the Diflucan or Nizoral is to lower testosterone. Both may lower testosterone which also helps some ASD kids move up the developmental ladder.gartgal@... wrote: We thought we had yeast under control, but the Valtrex kicked up the yeast.
