Has anyone else had any success with liposuction on the stomach area? Mark, Your cosmetic surgeon was just telling you the simple unpleasant truth. In Lipodystrophy, the fat deposits are under the abdominal musculature, out of the reach of the "hoses" they use to suck fat with liposuction. Worse, the fat is surrounding all kinds of delicate structures, and the crude punching and jabbing of liposuction would be like smashing through your computer's guts with a chainsaw. It doesn't end there. After surgery, the fatty tissues in the abdomen tend to form scars, and these "adhesions" cause much pain, and impede the colon's function. I have emailed his office twice with this question, but unfortunately they have gone unanswered. Maybe I need to email them in French? T He charges about $500 per session. Be patient, he speaks very good English, he'll get back to you. JB

The reason I ask is because I also feel that the skin under my eyes needs to be lifted somewhat. I thought I could have this done at the same time as the New-fill injections, however, I must be sure that Dr Amard has the expertise to do this without altering the shape of the eyes. Maybe I should go to an oculoplastic surgeon? Sorry if this question is extraneous to the context of this discussion group Dr Amard is a maxillo facial surgeon. He is very skilled. He will tell you if what you want is reasonable. I believe that he has done many people for what you want, off hand. JB
