Guest guest
It is acacia gum. It is a form of prebiotic soluble fiber. Fiber Gums are often used in such foods as yogurt to cause the product to have a thicker consistency. They can be used as a prebiotic food or as construction material. Obviously, processing varies according to the desired outcome. Fiber gums are water-soluble and derived from such plants as acacia, carrageenan, guar, locust bean, and xanthan. Usually containing about 85% fiber, these gums help promote the production of large quantities of short-chain fatty acids, which are known to play several beneficial roles, including the development of such intestinal bacteria as Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria. http://www.irritable-bowel-syndrome.ws/acacia-fiber.htm Here is a link on what it is and some reviews from people with ibs. Can you tell I have been working on this constipation thing for a few years. Guest guest
Thank you for the info! Kinda sounds like non bulking fiber? I discovered over time that those with motility issue's that this can actually be worse for them, insoluble fibers. So this may be worth checking more into if it is non bulking fiber(fermentation form). I dont know extensivly on fibers(soluble/insoluble), but just enough to avoid whole supplements that have bulking fiber(insoluble) until I learn more on fibers and motility issues. Thanks for the net link, well check it out! To the mom that had luck with the kirkman chewables. What were you using for a laxative prior to that? To Jennie, How long have you been using aloe vera? What anitfungals did you use? Guest guest
Hi, we have been using aloe vera for about 2yrs or longer. It is a mineral filled anti bacterial, anti viral, stool softner etc http://www.positivehealth.com/article-view.php?articleid=2138 As far a antifungals, garlic has been the best one http://www.garlic.mistral.co.uk/ ,OLE(olive leaf), then we also use magnesium, vit C, multi in drink supplement, cultured yogurts. The antifungals we typically use as needed. The magnesium, vit C(loosens stools, natural histamine) depends, 2 to 3 times a week(Im leary of the magnesium in higher doses daily due to I suspect it can slow motility, citrate form seems best in working and not affecting the motility much as far as we can tell) he gets it in lower doses daily thru his multiple.
