Guest guest
Hi, Has anyone tried Cell Salts for relief of constipation? I've been reading some info on them and they're actually homeopathic remedies. However, the philosophy is there actually 12 salts that work to heal the body in different ways. It's based on the work by Dr. Schuessler, about 100 years ago. The book is called Natural Healing with Cell Salts by Skye Weintraub, ND. As a family, we use homeopathic remedies for most everything. It's pretty rare we see a doctor (except in our ds' case and then I'm very skeptical). These cell salts, however, just just a little different than the remedies we use. In looking at the symptom lists for constipation, the most common salts to use are calc sulph (calcarea sulphurica), ferr phos (ferricum phosphate) and mag phos (magnesium phosphate). We've use sulphur to help with ds' constipation and it worked for a little while. There are others to use, based on specific symptoms ("bashful stools," or "fissures, anal, caused by hard dry stools" and others). So, if you're interested and want more info, here are some websites I found about it: http://www.doctoryourself.com/cell_salts.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biochemic_cell_salts http://www.alternative-medicine-naturopathy.com/tissue-salts-schuessler-cell-salts.html Tracie
