Guest guest
Hi Lena, Here is a site that sells a base with aloe, hydroxy cellulose and coconut oil already mixed so it must be possible, although it has an emulsifying wax and alcohol in it. http://www.essentialwholesale.com/product_p/1010.htm Out of curiosity, since mixing CS and other substances into DMSO or aloe gel comes up fairly often I went looking for gel bases. Mostly I looked at soap and cosmetic making suppliers but also searched on Poloxamer 127. Poloxamer 127 is a pharmaceutical grade gel that comes as a powder and is used in tissue culture media and custom compounded prescription gels. It appears to have BHT in it as a preservative which would be a drawback for some. Although any gel product will need a preservative. Brand name of this gel is Pluronic F-127. Aloe Vera powder 200X for making gel lotions: http://soapersupplies.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY & Store_Code=SS & Category_Co\ de=AVP Garnet
Guest guest
Hi Garnet,Thanks for this info!I'd made my original gel from a kit the Ode Coyote sells, for using with CS. It 's a pwoder that you first mix with liquid and then add a second powder that makes it even out into a smooth gel. DMSO mixed in well with it, as has small bits of essential oil, but the coconut oil made the whole thing separate and i had to chuck it out. I've got several versions which all have concentrated CS, I thought I had a bottle of pure aloe, but it has been mislaid. We're headed off to the Cape tomorrow and then to Maine to see our grandson who may be born in the next couple hours, so will have to wait a month before ordering any of these neat things, but I think that eventually I'll have the ideal combination for face, for hands, for scalp, etc. I just love creating new concoctions, so I really appreciate these sources you found!Be well,Léna Hi Lena, Here is a site that sells a base with aloe, hydroxy cellulose and coconut oil already mixed so it must be possible, although it has an emulsifying wax and alcohol in it. http://www.essentialwholesale.com/product_p/1010.htm Out of curiosity, since mixing CS and other substances into DMSO or aloe gel comes up fairly often I went looking for gel bases.
