Does the Fosamax contain Vitamin D?

You may want to check out Vitamin D and EN. I know with Sarcoidosis, the

granulomas produce enough Vitamin D in sunlight that if we could we might be

able to bottle and sell it..

also try to eat a lot of things rich in calcium to help. As for the thin

skin... I didn't know about that.. so thanks again for the input. I will keep

a watch on it. I think she is planning to take me off the prednisone after a

short time and keep me on plaquinil and see how I do with that. So far I'm

improving beyond what I thought I would. I've somehow managed to get some of

my energy back as well. I guess I didn't realize just how down I was until now.

or are able to take a calcium supplement for bones and use an alpha hydroxyacid

for skin if you are on prednisone for any length of time, or are looking at

" several short " term treatments.

Sharon, & group,

As far as I know, the Fosamax does not contain vitamin D. Because I don't have sarcoidosis I may not need to worry about that as much as you or someone with that condition. The Fosamax was given to me for the early signs of osteoporosis. Now with taking Prednisone I guess taking Fosamax is even better for me in the prevention of thinning of the bones.

The doctor didn't put me on any other medication with the Fosamax. Maybe with what you are taking it is better to take something else to enhance it's affects. Every medication is different and each one of us is different in how it reacts in our bodies.
