Guest guest
Dear Zoo, Jeff ,Tracey and Group, I had to laugh, Zoo! I have a couple pairs of stretched out socks in my drawer too. I guess we all do! Lately I've been using those shortie sports socks that have a very loose band around the ankle...loose enough not to make a mark. I can only find them in grey, though. I wear them over the TED stocking which I only use on one leg. Quite a fashion statement, and nicely hidden under pants! Keep us posted on those " blisters " . I wonder if it could be cellulitis? Jeff, I tried to do a Google search on that long medication you gave us. They suggest I misspelled it and to try: Aldactazide/Hydrochloride/Spironolactone but then nothing comes up for that spelling either. Dang! Tracey, it is awful when the sweling is concentrated in the ankle. Not only is it painful and hard to walk, but it can throw ones back out of kilter by trying to walk in a different way. I am just amazed the ankle can swell up so much and then shrink down sometimes overnight. I hope the doctor gives you good news and that the " tincture of time " is all that your Dad needs. Wishing Everyone a Happy and Painfree Weekend! Love,
Guest guest
Dear Tracey, Wonderful news!! Now your Dad is in the Idiopathic EN category--where they don't have any idea what caused it...same as me and many others. We have discussed acupuncture and Chinese herbs on this group. If you go to the group site you will find our links, files and archival posts on the subjects, along with other treatments. Guest guest
Hi , This med typically goes by the last of the series of chemicals (generic name), " spironolactone " . The label ran out of room and the " ne " at the end was omitted...LOL. After searching the generic name, I found out it's brand name is " Aldactone " . I take generics so when I found the brand name it was easier to find a site that had some basics. This med is a potassium sparing, mild diuretic. Here is a link for all of you: http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/chheart/meds01.htm#do jeff > Dear Zoo, Jeff ,Tracey and Group, > > I had to laugh, Zoo! Guest guest
, While I was in a meeting at work the other day, I showed it to the two nursing supervisors on that night. They wanted me to show the ER doc when he came to the meeting but I couldn't...I knew he'd have all the brand new residents in and I'd end up feeling like a speciman. Both of them did not think it was an infection but are begging me to see the derm doc and try not to hold off. They have seen all the weird and strange things going on in the past couple of years with me. I am keeping a very close I on it. Thanks, Zoo > Dear Zoo, Jeff ,Tracey and Group, > > I had to laugh, Zoo! I have a couple pairs of stretched out socks in > my drawer too. I guess we all do!
