Night sweats and EN or Menopause?

Dear Female Members,

Night Sweats and hot flashes according to my ob/gyn are due to low

levels of estrogen. However, during perimenopause one can get periods

without ovulation. One can be progesterone deficient or estrogen

dominant. It can cause irregular periods due to non ovulation. I am

taking natural progesterone pills called Prometrium to protect my

uterus from cancer until I hit menopause. Belive me I hate to take

drugs even though I have absolutely no side effects from the

prometrium. So in my round-about way what I am saying that unless you

know for sure you are ovulating, there is no way to know if the period

is related to hormone levels or not. And I understand this condition

changes from month to month in perimenopause. Many of my girlfriends

just stopped getting periods and didn' get sweats. Boy do I envy them!

For me itching after a flare up is a good sign that the skin is

healing. Try not to scratch. Soothing creams can help.

I probably just added confusion here, but throwing menopause into the

mix of symptoms just confuses the issue. Somehow or other we will get

through this, girlfriends.

Love,

Stupid question here about the Menopause. I'm just trying to see if

the two (EN and Menopause) went together because of the immune

problems going on. I started earty menopause at age 40 and will turn

42 this July. It kinda hurt knowing I will never have kids (my

sister in law had her first at 42) but yet its great not having

cycles as well. I'm just wondering though, if my immune system is as

whacky as the docs are saying and my skin is showing me, can the two

be connected?
