Action Alert for Waiting Lists - please distribute....

Dear Parents,

If you can only make one phone call, please make it to Representative Dan

Gattis. He's at .

Representatives Dan Gattis and Vilma Luna and Senator Judith Zaffirini are the

three who were chosen to decide on the level of funding for eliminating the

waiting lists (CLASS, HCS, CBA, etc). Senator Zaffirini wants to eliminate the

waiting lists more quickly by funding them at a 20% increase. Representative

Luna is the mother of a child who has Down Syndrome, so she most probably wants

the 20% level as well. Representative Gattis only wants a 10% increase and

stands firm on this.

Although only these three will finalize the proposal, today Jeane Steensma,

Fox and I visited all ten legislators who comprise the Joint

Appropriations Committee, Almost everyone suggested that, of the three-person

workgroup, we need to change the mind of Representative Gattis.

What we need ASAP is 5,000 phone calls to Representative Gattis' office! (If

you are from Cedar Park or town also mention that you are his

constituent.)

PLEASE ACT TODAY in order to double the outcome!
