Guest guest
If you mean a pancreas tx in someone w/no history of kidney disease, there is no Medicare reimbursement as it's a non-covered tx; there's no coverage for the immunos, either. Could anyone please give me information regarding Medicare reimbursement for a Pancreas only Tx? Thank You! Guest guest
Thank You. I have a pt. who has "Beta Cell Hyperplasia" which has caused his pancreas to fail and has caused multiple medical problems. He has been told he does not have a good chance for survival but could get a Pancreas Tx which would help. However, based on what you have said, it would not be covered. Is there any way to get Medicare to pay based on the Dx? I know it's a long shot. Guest guest
Talk to your local FI-you've got nothing to lose & the worst they can say is no (I suspect they will, btw). From what you said it sounds like it might possibly fall into the dreaded "investigational" & /or "experimental", too... Good luck, From: Kim Buckner Sent: Tuesday, April 05, 2005 9:32 AMTo: TxFinancialCoordinators Subject: RE: M-care reimbursement for Panc.Tx Thank You.
