Guest guest
For years I was diagnosed with Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia or Dysautonomia. My heartbeat at baseline went from 70 to 110 and then when I was working or under stress it would go up to 140. I'd get the palpitations, lightheadedness, shortness of breath. It was very scary. After several years on beta blocker medication, my electrocardiologist tried electrical mapping and ablation to slow the rate down and it failed. I did learn that I have a very unique and strange anatomy to my heart in the right atrium. The heart has 2 groups of cells in the right atrium that control the rhythm of the heart...the SA Node...and the AV Node. Well, I have tons of them. My doc said it was like " stars in the night sky. " They all go at the same rate, but he didn't know what was the problem. So, back on beta blockers I went. The tethered cord surgery helped ALOT. My heartrate is now back to around 80 and my blood pressure is again normal at 110/70 (it was elevated before surgery). Compression of the brainstem can cause irregular heart beat and palpitations, but you have to rule out other causes by a cardiologist and/or electrocardiologist first. I still have brainstem compression from the Craniocervical Instability and Cranial Settling, but my heart is doing better. I get only occasional palpitations and they don't last long. I'm still taking beta blockers until I'm told otherwise. Hope this helps, Cassidy --------------------------------- Fussy? Opinionated? Impossible to please? Perfect.
