Guest guest
Has anyone seen a sleep therapist or a psychologist about sleep problems? If you have, has it worked? I'm so weary of sleep medications losing their effects and taking a lot to get to sleep and still getting none. I take 6mg melatonin, a Lyrica (supposed to have a side-effect of sleepiness),? 2 Aleve, and Ambien CR at night. And I still have problems, but don't feel comfortable upping any of those. I was thinking about going at this from a new angle. Nobody has really taken into account why my sleep problems started. It started at the beginning of my being sick. It was a ptsd thing from having severe hypothermia. I had an irrational fear of going to sleep at night because I was scared of not waking up again (which is what happens with hypothermia in the end). Anyways, I don't have those fears anymore, but I wonder if a sleep therapist or psychologist might have new advice for me that looks more deeply at the problem. -Alia
