Guest guest
Steve, It does get better fairly quickly. My advice is 1. close your eyes and do it by " braille " . Trying to see what you are doing in a mirror can be confusing. Doing it by touch works quite well. Especially if you are working in the parietals, etc. 2. Get some ActivEEG electrodes, so you don't have to fool around with prepping and the electrodes help to boost the quality of your signal. Takes a lot of the stress out, knowing you will have a zero impedance. Pete Wow, just tried that for the first time and now realize I'm going toneed a whole lot of practice. :-) Locating the right spot, getting thehair out of the way and making a good connection, and having the electrode to stay put were all a bit challenging to say the least.I'll keep the faith and believe that some day that will become secondnature.Does anyone have any recommendations on the self application process? Thank you- Steve -- Van Deusen pvdtlc@...http://www.brain-trainer.com305/433-3160The Learning Curve, Inc.
Guest guest
Hi Pete, I believe I do have ActiveEEG electtrodes, a few packets I received had 60 " mini-packets " per bag and then there were others containing 30 each. They came ready to go but the paste seemed a bit dry and patchy on the surface, I've only opened one packet so I don't know if that's the norm. Regardless, I'm just trying to get a feel for things at this point and trying to prep myself for the workshop later this month. I wouldn't have bothered to take this step yet but I've started the BE Manual/Tutorial and the end of lesson 1 requires a reading be sent in to the instructor. I was surprised by this since the topic had not been discussed prior in the lesson. The instructions to " hook myself up " were the first indication that the tutorial is designed for established practitioners who are new only to BE. I might try skipping stuff like this and just skim all lessons on this first go round. Thanks for the tips - Steve > > > > Wow, just tried that for the first time and now realize I'm going to > > need a whole lot of practice. :-) Locating the right spot, getting the > > hair out of the way and making a good connection, and having the > > electrode to stay put were all a bit challenging to say the least. > > > > I'll keep the faith and believe that some day that will become second > > nature. > > > > Does anyone have any recommendations on the self application process? > > > > Thank you > > > > - Steve > > > > > > > > > > -- > Van Deusen > pvdtlc@... > http://www.brain-trainer.com > 305/433-3160 > The Learning Curve, Inc. >
Guest guest
Steve,Regarding the Actives', I suggest ripping off the little white stuff that's on the electrodes. Then, use conductive paste. Clean them after every use with alcohol. When the dark silver color begins to lighten, it's time to replace them.Jane __________________________________________________
