Zenapax billing for Medicare prime patients

Hi All,

We have a patient with Medicare primary, United Healthcare secondary.

She needs IV Zenapax post op kidney transplant. We normally provide this

in our 23 hr unit. She has mobility problems and wants it at home, but is

not homebound. I don't think Medicare covers it in the home.

My question is: Will the secondary, United HC, cover the Zenapax? My

concern is that the infusion benefit is paid through the medical portion

of the policy and UTHC knows she is Medicare prime. I am afraid that

they will only cover what they would have as secondary.

Appreciate any advice.
